Feliz Fun Fridays is open to students in grades K–8. Kindergarteners must be fully potty trained to attend.

Each session includes all enrichment activities, a PM snack, and a full dinner (our specialty taco bar).

Yes! Transportation is available from local area schools within a 10-mile radius for an additional fee, provided by our community partners.

Feliz Fun Fridays offers more than supervision - kids are learning, creating, and having fun in a safe space while parents get a break to recharge.

Not at all! Many participants took Spanish in high school or college but never learned how to actually speak it. Spanish S.W.A.G. is different - it’s fun, interactive, and helps you build a near-native sound while building real communication skills.

It's $25 to register, which covers your first class, all learning materials, and access to the Spanish S.W.A.G. Online Portal for Adult Learners. After that, it's $10 per class, and you can choose to pay monthly or by semester.

We meet Tuesdays from 6-7 PM at the Jessie Feliz Learning Center. If Detroit Public Schools (DPSCD) closes for inclement weather, we'll meet virtually on Google Meet instead. Participants will receive a class syllabus with more details about our schedule.

Spanish SWAG for Adult Learners is a year-long program made up of two semesters.

• Semester One: September - December

• Semester Two: February - May

We pause in January and do not meet over the summer months (June–August).

During longer breaks, participants will continue practicing their Spanish independently through the Spanish SWAG Adult Learner Portal (via Google Classroom).

After completing the first year, students will be invited to enroll in Level Two, which begins the following fall and continues building upon what you’ve learned.

As part of our long-term learning journey, enrolled scholars will also have the opportunity to join us for an immersive language and cultural trip to Costa Rica in June 2027, where you can practice your Spanish skills in real-world settings and experience the beautiful Caribbean cultures of Costa Rica firsthand.
