SUMMER CAMP THEME: MIS COSAS FAVORITAS / MY FAVORITE THINGS

This summer, scholars will learn how to engage in basic conversation in the target language about their favorite things, hobbies, likes/dislikes. Each day, we will welcome each other, say affirmations, give shout outs, review learning targets and get our minds and bodies ready to learn with a quick, cardio warm-up activity, followed by our Spanish Language Lesson. Music, dance, arts-n-crafts and games will be interwoven throughout the program. Students will also participate in a variety of onsite workshops with guest artists, included but not limited to: a cooking class with Chef Tia of Break Break 246, a paper mache art class with Micah Sanders of School of Visual Arts NYC, and much more! Water and snacks are provided daily prior to dismissal.

*Masks are required, regardless of vaccination status for both staff and students.

Students will understand the importance of using Spanish S.W.A.G.™ when engaging in conversation in the target language. Students will also learn about various Spanish-speaking communities and cultural practices in an effort to strengthen their understanding of their own culture and develop awareness and empathy for others.

For a final demonstration of learning, students will collectively and individually express what their likes and preferences are in Spanish at our End of Summer Camp Showcase on Wednesday, August 16th.

Space is limited for our in-person, summer camp.  Reserve your child's spot today!
