Hook 'Em with the Beat! Live Workshop for K-12 Spanish Educators

Live, 2-hr. Professional Learning Experience with Jessie Feliz

Saturday, September 24th 12 Noon - 2 PM (EST)

 By the end of this workshop, participants will:

• understand how music can increase student engagement, strengthen student understanding of content material and improve overall academic achievement
• identify how to create effective, content-driven mnemonic devices using popular music and TikTok challenges
• learn and practice Hip Hop-oriented musical mnemonics to reinforce the alphabet, days/months, numbers 0-30, subject pronouns, time, ser vs. estar, and regular -AR verbs (present tense)
• create a "Yo soy" poem/rap verse and learn how to facilitate a rap showcase in Spanish
• collaborate with teachers to create a mnemonic to use in their classroom
